Why Live in Paradise

Paradise is a small Wise County community on the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex’s outskirts, where wide-open skies, quiet streets and a strong sense of local pride shape everyday life. It sits on U.S. Highway 114 with a little downtown anchored by Main Street. The city center houses churches, a few eateries and some essential services, older homes and mature live oaks surrounding it. New subdivisions with contemporary homes continue to pop up along the community’s fringes, giving residents room to spread out and enjoy long views of rolling prairies. Properties tend to have large lots, around an acre or more and prices vary widely. Paradise ISD serves the community with four schools. The district is known for its supportive environment, strong academics and competitive athletics, with baseball and volleyball standing out. Youth sports fill the fields at Leone Park and Kennedy Fields. Around town, locals grab breakfast at Café Grace, pick up donuts at Daily Donuts or stop by food-truck favorite Gigi’s Grill. Each year, two events—September’s Main Street Festival and December’s Christmas in Paradise—bring residents together downtown. Though rural and very car-dependent, the town’s spot along Highway 114 makes regional commutes to Bridgeport (~6 miles away), Decatur (~10 miles away), Fort Worth (~40 miles away) and Dallas (close to 70 miles away) straightforward.
