As part of the town of Randall, Powers Lake is known for its natural surroundings. “It’s a great neighborhood with a beautiful lake,” says Dave Anstett, treasurer on the board of directors and Powers Lake resident. With farmland in the east and homes in the west, people travel to Twin Lakes, about 4 miles away, or Lake Geneva, about 9 miles away, for essentials and entertainment. Powers Lake, which takes up nearly half of the neighborhood, is where locals spend most of their day, ending their night with dinner at one of the lakeside restaurants. “Anyone would take pride in a lake like ours,” says the Town of Randall’s board chairperson, Paula Soderman. Mature trees surround the green lawns that homeowners have personalized with bushes and gardens. Many of the cul-de-sacs close to the lake break off into long driveways that hide large properties, and several residents have a personal dock in their backyards.
