We are proud to offer the historical "Coales Home" which was built in 1878 by Samuel Rudderow for S.Robinson Coales and his family. This gracious three story,five bedroom home was built in the Mansard or "General Grant" style which became popular after the Civil War. The village of Riverton was established in 1851 as a summer resort community by nine businessmen from prominent Philadelphia families, including the Biddles, the Clothiers and the Whartons. Using land purchased from the Lippincott family, Riverton was the first planned residential community in the nation. The current owners purchased the home in 2000 and returned it to its original glory. The expansive wrap-around porch with views of the Delaware River and the plantings indicative of the Victorian era make the yard an oasis which includes a back yard in-ground pool. This is a very special majestic property reflecting a bygone era that few homes offer.
