About This Home

This cozy two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow, built in 1946, is an old mill house gem in historic West Hillsborough. Freshly painted, very clean, and lovingly decorated with modern touches and comfy furnishings throughout, the space is bright and airy inside and situated on a quiet private lane within walking distance to Gold Park, River Walk, Nash St. Tavern, Village Diner, Hillsborough BBQ, Pizza, and Whitt's Frozen Custard. Just minutes from Downtown.
Built in 1946 as a three-room mill house and added onto over time, the house has a good vibe and great charm. The rooms are not large, but ample for two or three adults, or a family of four. Two windows in each of the bedrooms, living room, and kitchen provide lots of natural light and views of the yard, trees, and garden from this warm and comfortable space. Cooking essentials, bedding, towels, and washer/dryer are included.
The entire house, yard, and parking are available to guests. The concrete driveway accommodates two cars. No trailers and no large trucks are allowed. Pets are allowed by permission only with a non-refundable pet fee of $50 per pet per 30-day period. Pets must be accompanied by a human, quiet, and under control while outside, and all waste must be disposed of from the yard. Dogs may not be left in the house uncrated. Crated dogs may not be left alone for more than four hours.
West Hillsborough is a wonderfully quaint hilly neighborhood with a variety of types and sizes of homes with beautiful cottage gardens. Minimal traffic makes it a great walking neighborhood. Murray St. Park playground is just around the corner, and the passing of a train a few times a day, a couple of blocks over, adds to the charm. Within walking distance, Nash Street and Gold Park offer entertainment, trails, courts, fields, a dog park, and a playground. From Gold Park, the Riverwalk, a beautiful paved pathway along the Eno River, is a lovely 30-minute walk to downtown, where you'll find galleries, gift shops, eateries, live music, bars, and coffee shops. The Hillsborough Farmers Market at Margaret Lane Pavilion is open year-round on Saturdays. Occaneechi Village, just behind the pavilion, commemorates the original home of the Occaneechi Band of the Siponi Nation, the first inhabitants here.
No overnight guests not on the original reservation.
