Then-Town Architect and 2019 Seaside Prize Winner, Charles Warren, used the ancient Roman statesman Pliny the Younger's letters as a jumping off point for the design of his highly lauded Neoclassical villa and Pompeiian-red icon at the corner of Odessa and Forest. A rooftop terrace and Tuscan colonnade capture panoramic views of the beach and town and salty gulf breezes from every direction, with an inviting pair of stargazer chaises for taking in the sun and night sky. It is hard to miss and easy to feel just how fluid, expansive, and inspired the whole space is. An easy show, it has never been rented; and Artisan Builders is putting the finishing touches on a $250,000 restoration with underlying improvements to preserve the historic homage and all its whimsical allusions (see "Documents" for more details). There's even a copy of Warhol's "Mount Vesuvius" as a welcoming gesture to set the vibe. Buy now, and make the most of the summer in this infinitely original, sublimely re-imagined Seaside villa across from the West Pool, just up the street from the beach.
