The house was structurally improved in 1980. Most of the interior has been redone since. The kitchen got new cabinets, flooring, countertops, and appliances in 2015.The bathrooms have relatively new fixtures.
There are Reolink cameras on each door. The security system has door, temperature, and power alarms.
The solarium/greenhouse has an automated watering system. The rock wall is piped to allow for easy watering. There is a garden area in the front for outdoor plantings (zuchinni, carrots, peas, and green beans). The two grafted apple trees produce 5 different kinds of apples. The Nanking cherry bush ripens in August and the cherry tree ripens in early October. SO many raspberry plants. There are strawberries and asparagus plants in the rock wall planter. All kinds of perennial flowers include 5 amazing peony bushes, over a dozen different lilac plants, lupin, fireweed, and a smorgasbord of others.
There is a jetted tub and double sink in the downstairs master suite. The master shower has dual controls and heads. One upstairs bath has a shower only for folks that are starting to have mobility issues getting in and out of tubs.
While the driveway is on Old Seward Hwy, the circle turnaround at the bottom makes getting out easy. The house is only seconds way from the Seward Highway - making heading north to downtown or south to adventures a breeze.
The house is on a well and advanced septic system. There is a filter and water softener in the utility room that require adding salt and cleaning the filter about once a year. The water is super-clear and tastes amazing! The septic is a Bio-cycle system and requires routine inspections and occasional maintenance.
