What is Poly Steel construction? This home is not a stick home. You cannot compare it to one. Poly Steel is ICF construction- insulated concrete forms. This is a Poly Steel house, which means that It can take up to 250 mile per hour winds; it is energy efficient, and semi-sound ''proof''-more quiet. The concrete is poured through polystyrene forms that is reinforced with some type of metal. (this differs depending upon the brand)The R factor of Poly Steel walls is 22. (Pay lower utilities!) The sound transmission is 52 -(60 is considered excellent); a stick house is rated 36. An ICF or Poly Steel house is quality construction-very, very solid.The Veka decking is a PVC deck board that exceeds the ASTM standards. Its low water absorption makes it ideal for high humidityenvironments. The only maintenance required is an occasional mopping with mild soapy water.
