In the late 1940's to the early 1950's, a group of avid hunters formed the Silver River Reserve to promote access to outdoor opportunities for their members. Property owners within the Reserve pay an annual fee of $75 for road maintenance. The access roads are seasonal. The property is completely wooded with maple, birch, large hemlock, cedar, and other hardwood & softwood species. It has a future timber value potential. There is an intermittent creek that flows through the SE corner of the parcel. The area offers plenty of outdoor activities which include hunting, fishing, kayaking/canoeing, skiing, snowmobiling and it is located near the North Country Trail for the hiking enthusiast. There is plenty of wildlife in the area. The current camp owner has had plenty of success hunting deer on the 20 acres. Some close by area attractions include the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness, Prickett Dam, the Silver Mountain and the Sturgeon River which is rated a Type 1 Fishing Stream.
