Ontonagon has 45 streams and rivers! Shoemaker Creek, a tributary of the East Branch of the Ontonagon River flows through the property. Winter recreation enthusiasts delight in the Ottawa's location in the heart of "Big Snow Country." Winter opportunities include skiing, (cross country and downhill), snowboarding, skijoring, snow shoeing and ice fishing. Ontonagon County hosts a significant trail network for both motorized and non-motorized recreation. The Pioneer Multi-Use State Trail Number 13 is about 3+ miles to the north west. The North Country Scenic Trail (NCST), used for hiking, runs west to east through the central part of the county, including the Porcupine Mountains State Park.
