In early 2023, the 1st floor living area of the house sustained significant water damage resulting from a broken water pipe, frame leaks in 2 upstairs windows and water incursion in a corner of the bedroom from an open downspout. The broken pipe has been repaired and a rain barrel has been installed to catch and redirect rainfall from the downspout away from the house.

Ground floor wood flooring, kitchen base cabinets, the bathroom sink cabinet , and kitchen countertops and sink have been removed and dry wall was cut to eliminate water damaged sections. To restore livability in the house, first floor flooring replacement, new kitchen installation, bathroom fixture re-installation, and repair of leaks in two upstairs windows is advisable.
