Purchased in 1919 by Thomas Eugene Land as his residence, the home was remodeled to include the addition of brick veneer, the front porch and the porte-cochere. A brick ramp was added to make home accessible from the rear for elder visitors. Master bath was renovated and a laundry area was added on the 2nd floor near the Master Suite. The property has a two-car garage, workshop and tool shed all with electricity. Home is in an X zone and experienced no flooding during Hurricane Florence. The home is across Metcalf Street from the Tryon Palace grounds, and in walking distance to museums, restaurants and shops of downtown historic New Bern.
