An imposing example of early American architecture. While the interior of the home needs cosmetic and kitchen work, town records confirm that the home was substantially rehabilitated in the 1990,s. A visit to the basement on your tour will show the extensive support work done. There is a network of newer beam work and support columns as well as a cement basement floor. Similar reworking of support beams has been done in unfinished space over garage. It appears that the roof (which has architectural shingles), most of the mechanicals and some electrical were updated at that time as well... since then, the house has had the entire front entry porch replaced (duplicated for historical accuracy), and work done on the front chimney - new flashing, major re-pointing, and a new cap installed. The interior of the home has a formal front hall entry, with a parlor and what many refer to as a borning room (we might today refer to it as a den!)on either side.
