Internet service is only by satellite, or by cell phone... test your own coverage when you visit. Mapping may respond to New Creek (its assigned address), or Mount Storm, Maysville, or Elk Garden (use whatever works). Some roads were renamed 5 years ago for 911 addressing, so many maps may still be showing old names, but the maps I posted on real estate sites are correct. A line of windmills exists over the top of the mountain and that line is expected to be extended further, but over 3000' away. If that's a possible issue, then we need to talk more about it. Groceries, general shopping (Walmart) and Potomac Valley Hospital (new) are available in Keyser, 12-14 miles outside the security gate and Cumberland MD (also with new, much larger hospital) is 20-miles beyond that. For access from the DC area, the Rt 93 exit from Corridor H (Rt 48) is just 7-minutes from The Preserve entry gate. Warm-water Mt Storm Lake is a 15-minute drive from The Preserve and offers swimming, SCUBA diving and boating. 15-minutes beyond the lake (30-min from The Preserve), you'll find lots to do in the artsy-recreational twin towns of Davis and Thomas for snow skiing, biking, hiking, coffee shops, live music, fun eateries, plus Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley State Parks.
