This beautiful home, built in the early 1900s, is an historical staple in Newport! It is 3 levels with the first and second level being livable living space! The third floor could be living space with some work. This home could be restored into the most beautiful home ever! The current owner has done several things to restore the home and made great improvements. The possibilities to finish it out are endless! There are gas heaters and window units to heat and cool the house. The water heater is gas. There is also a fairly new furnace that has been installed and gas lines have been run to the house. However, it is not hooked up and would require some work to be in working order. The history is evident throughout the entire home in the beautiful floors, trim, stair case, molding, ceilings, and so much more! The first floor includes a gorgeous foyer with a beautiful staircase and a fully functional wood burning fire place. There are beautiful French doors that open into the living room which used to be a library! There are also old cast iron radiators throughout the house. There is an original boiler on site and also 2 claw foot bathtubs! Off of the living room is the kitchen with electric stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. Dishwasher may or may not work. There are no upper cabinets, but there are lower cabinets and counter tops. What was originally the den, is currently being used as the master bedroom, and it includes a gas fireplace. The laundry room, full bathroom, another bedroom and also a butler's pantry are also all downstairs. The bathroom is fully functional and the plumbing for the rest of downstairs works sufficiently. The second floor includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dressing room and a an awesome screened in porch, overlooking downtown Newport! There is even an elevator in one of the bedrooms that could possibly be turned into working order again!! One bathroom works great, and the other has not been used by current owner. There is also a formal dressing room upstairs that could be used as an office or another small bedroom or nursery. There are issues with the ceiling in one of the bedrooms and throughout several parts on the second story. About 3/4 of the roof has been redone in the last couple of years. There is a large building included that was once used us living quarters and two extra lots. This historic home has amazing character and needs a lot of work! But, it could be restored into something spectacular!
