Gutters were cleaned June 13th with some minor repairs by Tidewater Roofing. They also inspected, cleaned, and treated the roof at the same time. The blue pressure tank was replaced in 2017 by Marines Service Co. The well water was tested for mineral levels in 2022 (tested to help with nutrition decisions for livestock, no well issues led to the testing).
The water softener system has been self-serviced over the last years with quarterly flushing. Affordable Water Treatment Systems, LLC in Fredericksburg, VA, is now the Rainsoft provider for the area.
In 2020, the sump pump was replaced and a backup battery installed by Marines Service Co. A french drain system was also installed around the front and side of the house to help divert water away from the house and for the sump pump to drain into.
The septic was pumped and inspected on March 20, 2024, by J&G Sceptic. No issues were seen or discussed at the time.
The chimney was fully cleaned, inspected, and serviced (bringing it up to modern code) in 2019. A more recent cleaning was done in 2022/2023.
