A true treasure in Medfield! The Old Clark Tavern and Inn, built in 1740 by Seth Clark and his son Ebenezer. It is actually 2 houses attached. In 1773, Ebenezer attached the easterly side. The old dance hall on the back, still exists, and had many purposes. The Tavern became a popular stagecoach stop on the Hartford-Boston Turnpike. Nathan Hale on his way to NYC to spy on the British, stopped here to rest. Rumors have it, George Washington did too! The Tavern eventually became a 2 family.
