About This Home

Adjacent to the 80-acre Big Horn Equestrian Center, and immediately behind the Clubhouse, with sweeping views of the polo fields and the Bighorn Mountains, Creekside at Birdfarm (354 Bird Farm Road) offers a wonderful cowboy-cosmopolitan and equestrian lifestyle within 20 minutes of Downtown Sheridan, WY- one of the most desirable and truly western communities in America. Whether youre a polo or equestrian enthusiast, or you just like the ambiance of the lifestyle and the friendliness of the community, this property will give you many equestrian amenities while nourishing your soul with Bighorn Mountain Foothills views, the Sheridan-Lifestyle and Wyomings amazing low taxes.
This property is fully set up for the equestrian lifestyle. Owned by a polo player and professional horsewoman, it has been completely designed with polo and/or equestrian activities in mind. Since its adjacent to the Big Horn Equestrian Center, one can warm a horse up in the round pen and ride right out the gate to the fields.

The Property:
This 3.28 acre equestrian property has a 4 bedroom, 3- bath home, completely and exquisitely remodeled with a rustic-elegant flair that is not only very comfortable and inviting, but practical and functional. In addition to a lovely home, this property has a renovated and updated barn, which is now functional for horses (5 oversized stalls and a tack room). Just outside the barn is a brand new 55 round pen with washed sand for excellent footing. Furthermore, a new 20x40 steel hay barn and two 12x24 run-in shelters were added, along with 2,800 of flex pipe water line to the barn and two new Ritchie heated drinkers. New paddocks were created with 3-rail, pressure treated posts and rails, making this property extremely horse-friendly, simple, and convenient. Additionally a 30 amp plug in has been added for horse trailers or seasonal guests.
The Big Horn Equestrian Center offers a variety of events May-September each year, but even in the off-season, one can watch elk and deer on the fields. Equestrian Hills Subdivision residents, with a signed Riding Release Form, have the convenience, ability and privilege (for a small user fee of $150 and above) of walking or riding on the 80-acre Equestrian Center (weather and field conditions permitting).

With a long history of polo in the Sheridan and Big Horn areas, the Big Horn Polo Club is one of the oldest polo clubs in the United States, dating back to 1893, when on the 4th of July, 1893, at the Sheridan Fairgrounds, two polo teams calling themselves Sheridan and Beckton squared off in what Editor Joe Debarthe described as a wild scramble. Army scout and former Sioux tribesman Frank Grouard umpired the game. Mike Evans (founder of Tepee Lodge), George Beck (founder of Beckton) and Captain Pete Stockwell (a British officer formerly stationed in India) were among the players for Beckton and Bob Brown, Estes Polk, and a Robert Nix played for Sheridan. Over a thousand spectators witnessed the event. - Sam Morton
