Just one-and-a-half blocks from the Gulf, the home anchors a prominent axis at the south end of a grassy park known as The Parterre alongside Sea Garden Walk leading to the Gulf of Mexico. Overlooking the park, intricate details effortlessly flow on every floor and in every fixture, finish, and furnishing of the four story, four-bedroom home. The water and fire are apparent immediately when entering the courtyard. The Zaguan walls of rough-hewn Italian limestone with flowing water trickling down provides a feel of serenity. A "firewall" arrives next, with gas lanterns and solid Italian limestone urns in a shelf pattern that climb high into the night, creating a dramatic image of dancing flames and shadows at dusk. A floating gathering pavilion suspends from stainless rods seamlessly to the negative edge pool extending around the corner with a Sylvester palm tree that appears to float on water. Stepping inside the home, the first floor is mostly a large gathering space of gourmet kitchen, living, and dining overlooking the courtyard through the sliding door system joining indoor & outdoor spaces. The living room ceiling is coffered, featuring curved inlays of crafted wood in a raised pattern that repeats throughout and allows for the integration of home infrastructure such as ventilation grilles, sound system, and lighting. A long banquette offers comfortable seating across two separate custom dining tables with an inlay of antique mirrors. Crystal chandeliers adorn the wallsa choice that the owners made through deliberations with interior designer Susan Smith of Bohlert Massey Interiors. Italian limestone is used extensively throughout the four-bedroom, four bath home with two elegant powder roomspart of the owner's desire for very minimal maintenance. On the first floor it appears as large limestone floor tiles in a smooth velvet finish. In the courtyard are textured limestone pavers, while limestone railings on upstairs loggias feature a striated finish that adds visual interest. The thoughtful details are evident with every step, from a first-floor powder room with an internally lit onyx sink, to a white metal stairway handrail that looks like thick curving rope, all the way to the elaborate spiral chimney extending above the roof to offer a gift to the town's skyline. On the second floor, the master bedroom includes a large scene of tropical vegetation etched in light green glass covering the wall above the bed. Windows with views to the town surround the shower and bathtub, with privacy from curtains of stainless-steel beads. Intricately detailed, the master bath is complete with 1st class design & 5-star amenities including the automatic tub filler which flows from the ceiling with the champagne refrigerator within reach. The second floor offers the last two guest suites each decorated with its own identify and custom furnishings. Both yield en suite bathrooms and private viewing balconies for each enabling the utmost guest experience. The large sky loggia on the third floor is a hub for entertaining and overlooks Sea Garden Walk with views of the Gulf. Designer driven comfortable furniture, bead curtains that can be released for privacy, and a weathered wood chandelier that casts intricate patterns on the Venetian Plaster walls complete the space. The home rises one more floor to the sky terrace, accessed by an expansive flight of Italian stone stairs that appropriately named "the stairway to heaven." The terrace cantilevers out from the home and appears to hover above the town, delivering some of the most expansive views of Alys Beach Gulf waters outlined by the clean white of rooftops and views to the verdant green tree line of pines to the north.
