The unique stone and concrete construction gives the home the appearance of an Alpine cottage. The original builders designed the construction to be a ''200 year structure''. All exterior walls were formed from solid 8'' concrete, and it has storm windows throughout, forming an extremely energy efficient interior. While the concrete was still wet, a skilled craftsman took stones that were then being removed from our local caverns, at the Caverns State Park, and expertly pieced them onto the exterior. You can spend hours finding fossilized shells, leaves, and wood in the stonework. The tiled roof structure is also built to last well over 100 years.
