This property is in a lovely, quiet setting, one mile from where Canal Road ends at a large park on Lake Superior. The forested lands between the property and the lake provide some buffer from lake effect winds and snow. The area is known for its numerous summer and winter recreational opportunities. The property was last operated as a hobby farm for breeding large livestock guardian dogs and goats (for the entertainment of the dogs). The simple house, built in 1940, has been remodeled and modernized several times. A large area (several acres) behind the house and extending out to the barn is fenced (and set up with gates for keeping and moving around dogs and goats), and apple trees and other fruit abound. The rest of the 33 acres is about half open and half forested with a mix of hardwoods and conifers that is frequented by lots of wildlife. There are several potential additional building sites on a hillock north of the existing house. Note that Google Earth® mis-locates the true position of this property based on the street address.
