Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and downtown Calumet are each about eight blocks away. The home has had updates over the years, including siding and windows, but still holds a lot of its original historic charm. The five bedrooms are on the second floor, but you could have a sixth bedroom with connecting bath on the first floor. The home has hardwood floors throughout. The main floor consists of the kitchen, dining room, living room, sitting room, library area, and an additional room that could be the sixth bedroom or an office, family room or playroom. There are several non-working fire places in the home, and sinks in some of the bedrooms. One bedroom has a sink and a toilet (toilet is in the closet.) A second staircase goes up from the kitchen. This could be incorporated into a separate apartment. The attic is huge, with one room partially finished to be used as a playroom, office, additional bedroom, etc. The home was originally heated with steam supplied by the mining company to the homes in this area. It currently has its own steam boiler. The water heater, water softener and kitchen refrigerator are newer. The paved driveway has a turnaround space so you don’t have to back onto the street.
