Considered one of Charleston's most significant colonial residences, the Branford-Horry House has retained many of its original architectural elements, including extensive interior cypress paneling, and carved mahogany mantelpiece and cornice details. In addition, its nineteenth century two-story portico defines the residence as a rare and exceptional architectural resource within the Charleston Historic District. The building is associated with Charleston's earliest acts of historic preservation and is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Branford-Horry House has an interior and exterior easement with the Preservation Society. The existing non-historic garden shed may be removed and an appropriate garage building may be added.
