Built in the early nineteen hundreds, the 4,745 square foot house is "constructed of materials Taylor loved: rubble-stone walls, diamond-paned windows, dark chestnut siding. The use of chestnut is continued in the interior woodwork, notably in the paneled living room, which incorporates a cozy inglenook." (Alfredo Taylor in Norfolk, by Havemeyer and Dance). The house is, for the most part, in its original state. Recent improvements include electrical upgrading, newer furnace and hot water heater, central AC and a brand new roof.
