About This Home

I have been known as The Red House since 1842 when I was first built. For sure there is a lot of history here and many stories I could tell but suffice it to say, my current owner has been here for over 30 years and at times there has been an antique shop in the barn as well as a 2-room B&B…my location makes me very handy indeed! My clever owner and her talented daughter have painted the faux stone floor in my ‘less formal’ living room where there is a great enameled woodstove to help heat. I also have a formal living room with a Finnish woodstove that helps defray heating costs greatly and provides a focal point for this room along with the built-in bookcases. On this floor there is also a formal dining room, powder room and a large very functional kitchen with a ton of storage. On the 2nd floor are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths…. plus, there is a 2nd kitchen perfect for use when I want to do my B&B scenario. My current owner has done many updates including new 200-amp wiring, a newer roof and furnace so I am hot stuff now….no pun intended. My yard (1.4 acres) is private given I am located close to the roadway, and I have a great barn which also has a small shop/office space perfect for many clever uses this is where my current owner had her antique shop. Oh, that’s right, I have a nice, enclosed porch too!
