Trail, a prominent banker and landowner in Frederick City, and it has remained in the family since. The main section of the 2,800 SF +/- primary residence is believed to have been constructed in the 1840's and features: Italianate cornice with brackets and dentil molding; double two-panel wood entrance doors with a four-light transom; 11' ceilings on the first level and 10' ceilings on the upper level; two original parlors each with a four panel doors and two-light transom above it; pine floors; some original hardware; a standing seam metal roof; a three story stone tower (added in 1878).
