Bathroom Renovation:
- January-February 2013 – Full remodel down to the wall studs. New components include:
- New Kohler bathtub.
- New Kohler fixtures – sink, toilet, lights, bathtub.
- All new Virginia tile in the bathtub and walls.
- New vanity, granite counter, and medicine cabinet.
- New drywall in bathtub stall and ceiling.
- New plumbing and electrical.
- New custom milled woodwork extending into the halls and upper bedrooms.
Only original components remaining include:
- doors – lead paint stripped at professional off-site location.
- original basket-weave tile floor
- arch into the bathtub stall.
All work completed by Midtown Craftsmen, LLC.
Doors:
- July 2006 – New front and side storm doors. Side storm door opens opposite principle exterior door due to prevailing wind catching old door and causing damage. New door does not experience same issues. Installed by professional contractors.
- July 2006 – New side exterior door installed with new frame. Old doorframe had experienced damage prior to current owner and required replacement. Solid door was required as height and width is outside of manufactured doors by local and national companies from stock. Grand Rapids Door Company milled the current door from red oak slab. Installed by professional contractors.
- May 2010 – Garage doors installed by Overhead Door Company. Original doors had been nailed shut except for one small section. Front of the garage including center support pillar replaced with new material. Installers also performed this work with owner's assistance.
- June 2010 – Rear sliding door removed and Jeld-Wen French doors installed by professional contractors. Interior trim installed by owner.
Windows:
- October 2007 – Upper rear bedroom had the door replaced with a window. Due to the size and requirements, the current window was installed in response to these limitations.
- July 2008 – Kitchen side, over sink window, and upper bathroom windows replaced with new Jeld-Wen units. Over the sink window was already a casement window and we replaced it accordingly.
- 2006-2014 – All windows painted and made operational by current owner. Storm windows made operation, screens repaired, and damaged wooden storms replaced. External window casings custom cut and replaced with cedar.
Floors:
- 2006-2013 – All hardwood floors and stairs sanded and refinished by current owner.
Basement Windows:
- May 2008 - Old single-pane glass basement windows replaced with glass block windows.
Basement Sink:
- August 2012 – Basement sink and plumbing installed by Penning Plumbing.
Chimney:
- August 2014 – Inspected inside – exterior tuck pointed by Hancock Chimney Service.
Fireplace:
- August 2014 – New gas fireplace, Heat 'n Glo with electronic ignition, remote control, fan, and temperature sensor installed by Hearthcrest Fireplace and Home.
Front Step:
- September 2013 – Broken front step replaced by Get Concrete.
Exterior Paint:
- June 2013 and August 2015 – Exterior paint done by VanderKolk Painting. Scraped and peel guard applied, along with Sherwin Williams exterior paint.
