Tudor style home built in 1928 by Wm Lewis Arthur who was a former building inspector in Pequannock Township, for his personal residence. In 1956 he built a two story cottage in the backyard, which yields 3/4 an acre. In 1978 the property (i.e. house & apartment) was willed to his son and a total renovation was done down to the interior frame and stack. Included are walls, electrical, plumbing and fixtures, gas boiler ( including all the ductwork for central air ) and new roof. In 2001 Vinyl siding, new windows, doors and roofing shingles were installed to both buildings. In 2014 updated the cottage to meet the requirements of the township, and presently has a Certificate of Occupancy. Additionally there is a detached garage behind the house in front.
