In 1927, a north Georgia Forest Ranger, Aurthur Woody, with his own money, began releasing deer in what would later expand into a formal statewide restocking program funded by the Pittman Robertson Act. In 1962, things ramped up and 10 deer from Babcock, Wisconsin were released, which founded the basis for much of todays great Georgia genetics.
It has 1.13 miles of frontage on Hwy 37 and is located just 33 miles to Albany, 37 miles to Bainbridge, and 55 miles to Thomasville, Georgia.
