His experience in real estate began at an early age working construction and home remodeling during college. During college, he studied communications with an emphasis in interpersonal communications. After college, he took a job with Nordstrom. Working for Nordstrom proved to be an invaluable experience as it taught him the art of sales and, most importantly, the value of relationship-based business. During his years working at Nordstrom, he continued doing small remodel and home-flip projects to create a passive income.
