Alex is an experienced, knowledgeable, responsive, and hard working real estate professional. He worked with us for a year to buy the perfect home for us on the west side of Santa Cruz. He has an extensive background in real estate both as an agent and personal investor that was very helpful in assisting us to make a fully informed decisions that we felt confident about and getting our deal done. He has great connections with all of the other top agents, mortgage brokers, local contractors in all trades, and he didn't hesitate to proactively engage in preliminary record searches at the County. Alex was never pushy, yet always available and responsive right away when we had questions or inquiries about properties. I can't thank Alex enough and haven't hesitated referring him to colleagues, friends and family.

Alex is a phenomenal realtor, and a really great person. We were introduced to him by friends who were impressed by his skills, in-depth knowledge of the market and incredible helpfulness after the purchase of their home in finding multiple contractors to do a lot of work at their new home. After working with him, we became even more impressed since he has the inside scoop on pre-listed homes, he can accurately estimate the cost of repairs and upgrades (essential for this market since so many homes need work), and he even hooks you up with great contractors to do the work. He's also incredibly knowledgeable about 1031 exchanges since he's done them for himself and his clients. I really appreciate the fact that he's proactive and constantly networking for his clients, checking out houses on broker tour on our behalf, talking with other agents about upcoming listings and discussing sales to develop an accurate read on current market conditions. Everyone in the realty community seems to love Alex, so he's got solid relationships, which helps him get deals done smoothly with other realtors on behalf of his clients - that makes a huge difference and sets him far apart from other realtors. Even in a highly fluctuating market, he's been able to accurately estimate what a winning bid will be, and where there's opportunity for a bargain. Most of all, he truly cares about his clients and their needs, and takes the time to understand exactly what his clients find important in their house hunt, even when clients have trouble articulating it. I'm blown away by his talents, professionalism, the results he was able to get for us, his help throughout the process and even after the close, and how much he really cares about us and our happiness. He truly goes way above and beyond what we've experienced with other realtors. Alex found the exact right house for us, in a great location, under our budget price, and helped us get it done with a complicated 1031 exchange process. Even though we've already closed, he's still helping us by connecting us with contractors for upgrades, and even helping us rent out the house without any commission. He's a truly special person, a really great guy, and an exceptional realtor. I wish there were more people like Alex in this world!

We’ve worked with Alex twice now- first to purchase a home, then to sell a home. Alex is not only highly knowledgeable of the Santa Cruz area and housing market, but a genuinely nice person that has made the home purchasing and selling process as pleasant as possible. Alex quickly picked up on my husband and my style for interaction. He was patient and resourceful, but assertive when needed to jump on the right opportunities. We were particularly impressed and grateful with Alex’s guidance during our recent home resell, as we placed our home up for sale right as the recent market bubble started to show signs of uncertainty. Alex made the home buying experience easy and fun. As a first time home buyer my wife and I had a lot of questions. Alex was always available and always made sure to answer our questions fully.

He is hard working and caring. We were able to close escrow on the sale of a mobile home for my aunt's estate even with enormous obstacles placed by the city, county, housing authority and HOA, he is a jewel. Anybody who is selling in Loma Vista need s this man on their side.. He brought us potential buyers immediately after listing with him (previous broker had over 1 1/2yr and never brought us a nibble.) I doubt you will find any other willing to work so hard to close a deal. He is worth 10 stars.

From the quick responses to email, text or phone calls, to preparing a good offer, looking at all the details of the property, organizing inspections, etc. Alex was with us the whole process. He also has been in the area for a long time, and he seems to know everyone.

I recently closed escrow on a cute little beach condo in the Capitola Jewel Box. It's the fourth home I've owned, but the first as a single woman-- so it was a very proud moment. I could not have gone through this somewhat scary process without the help of the best realtor in the world, Alex Johnson. First he found me the place, second, he got my offer (one of 6) accepted and because he's a local resident who's lived in Santa Cruz for over 30 years, he knows everybody and he's well-liked and respected. For instance, he's been extremely helpful in referring me to local contractors and service providers. What. A. Guy. I know all realtors work hard and now that I am the recipient of that due diligence, I can truly appreciate it. If you are looking to buy in this still competitive market, I highly recommend Alex.
