We had worked with Alex in 2015 as a seller & buyer, in 2018 as a seller, and now again in 2023 as a buyer and are SO grateful that we get to work with someone who, no matter how crazy the market is , makes us feel very well taken care of.

I will say our recent home purchase was not your typical home buyers loan process, as we did an assumable loan. Very tricky process and many hurdles. Alex was right there with us through the very long process, there was many times the deal could have fallen through but Alex was able to bring us a sense of calm and also translate that to the seller as well.

Rochelle Yukich was our buyers agent for a closed (04-2023) 3 bed 2 bath in the Beumont-Wilshire neighborhood in inner NE Portland. She was thoughtful, fast, thorough and was an active advocate for our interest. We have purchased houses before and really she gave the most thoughtful service we have experienced. As we approach the end of the year, I like to take the time to reflect on the best and worst times, the lessons, the laughs, and all the hard work it takes to build such a beautiful life. When it came time to this reflection, I cannot help but admit that I have a LONG overdue review for one of the people that contributed so much of his time and care into being the best relator and friend throughout the first-time home buying experience. This person is Alex Phan. As a disabled veteran, I first had hesitation towards using the VA loan, and thus, this kept a long-standing rental bill each month throughout the years. On top of the VA loan hesitation, I hesitated towards realtors in general, from a couple of previous negative experiences I have had. That being said, I first requested a meeting with Alex based upon the recommendation of my husband. (Alex and Shaun went to high school together, so the years of friendship continued on through past their 20th high school reunion!)
It was such a pleasure and delight working with such a fine individual being our realtor, and oh how lucky we were that the friendship strengthened. I couldn’t recommend Alex any less. Through making house viewings priority and aiding in the “tribal knowledge” throughout the whole process really made the experience a pleasant one, considering how stressful it already is buying a house, let alone for the first time. Alex’s dedication and personality is definitely admirable. Anyone that has the pleasure of working along side with him, it’s a real treat for such individual(s) because of his attention to detail. We couldn’t be prouder to recommend such a valuable person from our lives when one seeks a realtor in Oregon. If you’re looking for a relator Alex is the GUY. He was always really professional and honest with me. He helped with more tasks than I had expected. My work really limits me being able to do physical tasks during the day and Alex stepped in. He really goes out of his way to get things done and is always happy to answer questions. He’s a man of connections as well and has done fixer upper houses himself so he has a natural eye as to what needs to be fixed, not to mention prices to expect that follow. When our friends ask for a real estate suggestion, my husband and I race to say Alex's name! It's hard to write this review as there are so many reasons why we only trust Alex. He is well-connected, has his finger on the market pulse, and knows how to hustle for his clients. When we bought five years ago, Alex provided excellent advice on a house we did not buy. And in this recent hot market, Alex kept us emotionally calm to make good financial decisions again - and we found the perfect house below our max budget. Fundamentally, Alex understands (and values) that this is one's life savings, and he is connecting you to an investment. He worked around our crazy schedules, texted us when around the clock, and made us feel like we were his only clients always. There were times we asked about a house, and he'd be ready to meet us there in mere minutes. My husband once told me he preferred Alex's private tours instead of an open house so he could hear Alex's insights as he helped to deep dive into every cabinet / furnace etc. Alex never pushed us to decide or change our minds. And, when we were ready to offer, he was all over it. He negotiated our closing flawlessly, helped with all the home transitions, and even gave our toddler a gift. I was referred to phan by a friend. Like all realtors he was busy but he was always on top of things. He answered all of our questions when touring a house. He meet us on time he would check on us he was very responsive. He has alot of knowledge and has many contractors to choose from if we needed to fix or do inspections. Alex, Rich, and the entire PhanHall team were tremendously helpful in negotiating the home-buying experience. They helped us sell our home last year, and purchase one this year.

Home buying is stressful anytime, but add the stress of the Covid-19 Pandemic! All the agents we worked with always wore a mask, reiterated safety protocols, and did their best to make the home shopping experience feel comfortable and safe for me & my husband.
