About Antonia

Originally from California, Antonia Kurtz moved to Mansfield when she was 3 and attended Madison Local Schools, which is also where her three children currently attend.

“What I love about living here is how it's not very fast paced,” she said. “I enjoy the country-living part of being here. I also love all of the seasons. Fall is my favorite.”

When she's not working, Antonia calls herself “super crafty.”

“I love getting creative and making things,” she said enthusiastically. “It's really fun to do with my kids. When I break out the crafts, it's the only thing that will tear them away from the electronics. They love doing that stuff with me!”

Antonia said she's always had a passion for homes - older homes in particular.

“I just find it really interesting the way that they're built – things like the woodwork and how they used to actually take their time to put engravings in the wood,” she said. “I've always loved that.”

Antonia said her good friend, Amanda Harris, also had a passion for houses.

“She'd always say that one day she wanted to be a part of the real estate world and I just really encouraged her to follow her dreams,” Antonia said. “She was able to follow through with going to school, and she passed her exams and started helping people buy and sell and it just made me want to be able to do it myself even more. When I decided to go through the schooling, her and my mom really encouraged me and believed that I could do it, too. Because of that, I decided to do it, too.”

Antonia said her goal is to help as many people as possible, in particular those who will be making a big purchase for the very first time.

“That is super important to me because I know it's going to be important to me when I make mine,” she said.

Antonia also said she looks forward to being able to help her community.

“I've always wanted to be a bigger part of the community, and I know with real estate, eventually I'll have the means to do that,” she said. “I would like to help the homeless because I’ve been homeless too, and know what it’s like to go without. I've been on my own since I was 17, and raised kids since I was 17. I've been in some rough places, and this morning when I woke up, I just started crying thinking about how I've struggled and how much this means to me and how far I’ve come.”

Antonia said she can't wait to get started at Sluss.

“I've heard a lot of really good things about you guys from several different people,” she said. “My friend Mandy (Amanda Harris) told me, ‘They're so great. They're going to take such good care of you, you'll probably never want to leave.’ “I also heard from other people how good you guys are and then once I met you guys, I just felt like this was where I should be. You guys made me feel like I was home. I just knew this was where I needed to be.”
