About Ben

Ben Preston is the Qualifying Broker and Associate Broker at the Hoover office and has been a member of the LAH family for 21 years. While attending Auburn University he worked at a hardware store and was in constant contact with builders and real estate agents. After graduation, he became an insurance fraud investigator. Over the next 5 years, he traveled the country for his job, but he always felt like something was missing. Ben has always been described as a people person and is well known for being around and helping people. So when the opportunity presented itself in 2005 through former Broker Jimbo Moore to become a real estate agent he was all in.

Ben Preston now enjoys a brand-new free-standing LAH office right in the middle of Hoover. He is the Managing Broker of LAH Hoover and has been since Jan 2026. He is set apart as a realtor by his relationships with his clients. He prefers to maintain a long-term relationship with his clients and be there to help them even outside of their real estate needs. He treats his clients the way he would treat his immediate family in real estate transactions. He got his broker’s license back in 2021 but is finding ways to further his knowledge every day.

In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family enjoys being around any source of water. He also enjoys Auburn sports, the Atlanta Braves, and fishing. He has been a Hoover resident for 26 years and has been a part of many functions and network groups in the surrounding area. He coached rec league soccer for 5 years and attends Vestavia Hills Methodist Church.

Ben Preston and his wife, Laura, met while attending Auburn University. They were married in 2003 and now have two daughters, Claire (20) and Mary (16). Laura is a teacher at Vestavia and has been teaching for 24 years. Ben credits his success to his family, “They give me the driving force to make a difference and be the best agent for my clients that I can be.”
