About Betsy

I'm Betsy Hamilton, a RE/MAX GOLD Realtor who serves clients in Grass Valley, Nevada City and throughout Nevada, Placer and Yuba counties. My family and I made Nevada County our home 25 years ago. We absolutely love living here in the Northern California foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
Since starting in real estate more than a decade ago, I have loved getting to know my clients as we work closely together during their transactions. One of the best parts of my job is creating connections in this community, which I'm so grateful for in everything it has brought to me and my family. My knowledge of Nevada County is extensive, and I am confident in my ability to get your home sold for the right price and/or to get you into your perfect place.
As your listing agent, I work hard to represent you and make your lives as easy and smooth as possible in what can be a naturally stressful and overwhelming environment. My team and I go above and beyond to make sure that our clients are happy and comfortable throughout the process. As your buyer's agent, I make sure to find the best home for you and your needs. I know this community well and I often hear about homes before they are even listed on the MLS.
While many agents shift their focus toward listings as their business grows, I've made a point of staying active on both sides of the transaction. Since 2023, no agent in western Nevada County has helped more buyers purchase a home than I have — 103 buyers and counting, based on MLS data. In 2025 alone, I closed more than 60 transactions totaling $35M in sales. Staying close to the buyer side means I understand firsthand what buyers are up against in our market — from wells and septic systems to private road agreements and rising fire insurance costs — and that experience shapes how I represent sellers, too.
When away from my real estate life, you can often find me with my hands in the dirt of our garden, taking a hike on one of our many beautiful trails, skiing with my family on the Sierra slopes or enjoying the arts & culture and food & drink our community offers.

I know we have all heard the old saying “There’s gold in these Grass Valley hills”…..And it is so very true. Betsy Hamilton Realtor, is indeed 24 karat Gold and is a local precious commodity.

I met Betsy several years ago, and she stuck with me for the past SIX years previewing properties, doing property researches, keeping my spirits up when all that I viewed just wasn’t quite right, and assuring me that we will find the perfect home for me.

She’s tireless, totally honest, and reliable, and makes you feel that you are her top priority at all times.

Well, finally, after about six years, we did find and purchase my perfect place. I wasn’t local, so Betsy assumed a lot of extra personal service when ordering and monitoring inspections, emailing me everything I needed to review, and always keeping me looped in regarding every aspect of the purchasing process.

I now consider her a personal friend, she is amazing at her job, as well as being a wonderful person very knowledgeable in all phases of this area’s real estate market. She is the best person to have representing you in any and all real estate transactions.

I cannot thank her enough for being on my team with such a happy ending. I hope, if you are considering any type of property transaction, that you will contact Betsy. She truly is Gold.

GREAT AGENT!!!

Betsy was an amazing agent for our family at a really tough time. Betsy was prompt, reliable, compassionate, friendly and had all the resources we needed. She coordinated an estate sale and helped with cleaning up the entire property.

Of the four agents I contacted in the Grass Valley area, she was the first to call me back and provide pricing feedback. Not only that, but it was Betsy we worked with directly on everything, not just for the first meeting and then a hand off, but actually her. This was very important to us.

We took her advice on the listing price and it worked! I cannot say enough good things about how she shepherded us through this sale and are grateful for her professionalism.
