About Bobby
Bobby Taruc moved to the United States in 1990 to pursue his master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA after graduating from University of the Philippines with a degree in Architecture. Ever since migrating to the US, Bobby has always wanted to be close to his extended family. Thus, he has always lived in the Land of Lincoln, first in Bourbonnais (Kankakee County), Homer Township, Hinsdale, Lockport, and now Warrenville since 2005. Swayed by the dotcom boom, he has pursued a career in Project Management and Business Analysis, graduated with a second MS in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, Oak Brook and a Certificate in Business Analysis from DePaul University, Chicago.
His dad was an entrepreneur and a Civil Engineer in the Philippines. Growing up, he’d be excited to accompany his parents at civil works job sites, traveling by sitting (without seatbelts) on the open bed of a pick up truck. Wanting to follow his dad’s footsteps, he opted instead to major in Architecture. This time around, he returns to his love of the built environment, adding the practice of data and analytics in Business Analysis, as the practice of real estate brokerage has transformed driven by large amounts of data. Bobby partners with his wife Joan in this endeavor, forming a relationship-grounded professional service team. Joan grew up in Glen Ellyn and has worked for Community School District 99 for a number of years. Both of them love serving in the western suburbs communities.
Bi-vocational for the time being, Bobby has managed projects with total project cost of $4M+. He is committed to leveraging his project management and stakeholder management skill sets to provide the best customer experience most beneficial to the principal or client.
Bobby has been part of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Chicagoland Chapter Board of Directors from 2016 to 2018, managing their Social Media practice. He continues to be a volunteer faculty with the PMI Military Outreach teaching veterans the Fundamentals of Project Management, a partnership with a 501-(c)3 non profit organization Black Diamond Charities. Currently, he serves as Director for Publicity, for PMI Central Illinois Chapter. He serves in the Board for the Marquette Manor Baptist Church in Downers Grove.
