Brian Porter is in my opinion one of the finest real estate agents in Portland. His support was invaluable during my home buying process as I sold one home and bought another. He is highly intelligent, flexible, hardworking, detail oriented, empathetic, experienced, conscientious and extremely knowledgeable. He guided me throughout the process in a highly supportive way.

This is one of many examples. As I was getting ready to make a successful offer for a home in Overlook, my partner found another listing that day that looked “too good to be true.” As timing was critical, Brian volunteered out of the blue to do a showing that same evening. His reasoning was “I don’t want you to regret your decision.” The home was in fact too good to be true and we both agreed it was unacceptable given my goals and objectives.

Brian worked closely with my loan agent. His communication was always timely, and I never felt in limbo at any point in the buying, negotiation and closing process. He will guide you on making a fair and competitive offer- not one that is inflated to simply increase the chances of a sale.

What also stands out is that Brian gives you no sense that he “wants a sale.” He is professional and objective and gives insightful advice – allowing the buyer to make the best decision. He will advise you if he feels the home may not be a good match.

One final example. On the day I got the house keys and assumed full ownership, I was running about 15 minutes late. I called Brian an hour before we were to meet to let him know I would be late. He was already at the property! When I asked him why- he said he didn’t want to be late.

With all of this, Brian is also a very successful, respected agent with a solid reputation among his peers.

Brian was a joy to work with. His knowledge of vendors assisted us in getting repairs done quickly. We live outside of Portland so he saved us time by letting the workers into our unit to make the necessary repairs and get our unit on the market.

His professionalism and experience helped us understand the Portland real estate market. He shared his marketing plan and walked us through the selling process. He staged the unit and had a professional photographer take incredible pictures. Whenever someone visited our unit he shared their feedback and their overall impression of the unit. We trusted his instincts and recommendations, which eventually led us to selling our unit. He guided us through the negotiation process and as a result, we presented a successful counter offer that the buyer accepted! The process went so smoothly that we were able to close early! I found myself under water with my mortgage this past year and was facing the daunting inevitability of losing my home. Brian Porter stepped up for me and went above and beyond expectations in terms of navigating a very complex home modification program offered by the financial institution. Keep in mind that I was considering selling (short sale) which Brian was assisting me with, however when I found out I may be able to qualify for a home mod and save my house, Brian supported me one hundred percent.

Despite the fact that this would mean no sales fee to be had, he continued to support me and met with me numerous times. He acted as my intermediary with the bank, and handled the business of submitting documents and supporting the process of striking this deal, ultimately allowing me to keep my home.

I can't express how truly grateful I am for the unconditional support and professionalism with which he displayed throughout the process. Brian gets five star rating and then some!!!

Brian Porter goes beyond what you would expect from a Realtor, not only providing answers to all your questions, preparing you for each step in the process, and giving you a team of competent people who work on your behalf; but by also bestowing sincerely friendly words of wisdom, stress therapy, and hand holding--just when you really need it. He consistently gives you his time, checking in often, keeping you updated on all matters, promptly returning all of your calls, and talking you through all your concerns until he is certain that your mind is again (at least for the time being) at ease. Brian sold my condo during a downturn in the real estate market while I was living in another state. He was able to make me feel that everything was being managed with the highest standard. Here, finally, is a service provider who does not create extra stress and work for you, but actually makes buying or selling your home a relatively easy process. I recommend him highly.

In all my years of working on real estate deals, for both personal and business purposes, I would have to categorize Brian as being both the most professional and easiest to work with realtor I have encountered. He consistently demonstrated excellent knowledge of the investment neighborhoods we were looking at, and exhibited outstanding follow through. What was most gratifying is that this continued after the closing, to doing a variety of things I would classify as 'above and beyond' in helping me coordinate property management and repairs. Since I live in another state, this was incredibly helpful and reduced a lot of the stress associated with this type of transaction.

I purchased my first house in July 2012, and I can't recommend Brian enough. His first priority was finding the perfect home for me. He never rushed me into purchasing anything; rather, he even talked me out of a few homes that I was interested in, that in retrospect would have been terrible choices for me. He also went above and beyond the call of duty in taking care of all of the details, and his dedication allowed me to close on the home two weeks early. Furthermore, everyone that he recommends, from inspectors, to contractors, to mortgage brokers, are honest and professional. Brian made buying a first home as objective and low stress as possible!
