About Bruce
Bruce Bean is a seasoned commercial real estate professional and the founder and sole owner of The Trafton Group in San Mateo, California. With extensive experience directing, managing, marketing, leasing, and selling commercial assets, he has built a reputation for delivering comprehensive real estate solutions across office, industrial, retail, multifamily, healthcare, and specialty property types throughout the San Francisco market.
Prior to establishing The Trafton Group, Bruce gained valuable industry experience with TRI and Cushman & Wakefield, further strengthening his expertise in investment sales and property management. His professional background also includes leadership in architectural design, having served as President of Beavers, Bean and Hale Associates in Boulder, Colorado, where he directed planning and design initiatives for financial institutions, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
In addition to his real estate career, Bruce has been actively involved in community and nonprofit leadership. He previously served as Board President of Crystal Springs Uplands School and held board leadership roles with HIP Housing, including serving as President from 2010 to 2017 and overseeing property acquisition efforts for affordable housing initiatives. He is also the founder of Affordable Housing Ventures, focused on acquiring naturally occurring affordable housing to support nonprofit housing developers.
Bruce’s academic background includes graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Colorado, LEED coursework at MIT, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on East Asian studies, supplemented by international study programs in Kyoto, Japan.
