Cara Wilkins

Cara Wilkins is a unique real estate professional, an independent business owner, and a tireless provider of elite client service. She has more than 25 years of sales experience and expertise, and her attention to detail is second to none. Her priorities have always remained consistent; she focuses on advocating for each and every one of her esteemed clients, while utilizing a vast network of industry vendors and peers to enhance the real estate process.

Prior to real estate, Cara established a successful career in outside sales with Xerox Corporation. She built a reputation for excellence in digital and document solutions across the broad spectrum of Xerox product lines to a vast array of industries. After 17 years and 3 children, her career path took a turn, as Cara became an adjunct professor at Elmhurst University developing and teaching sales classes to MBA students.

She is a proud graduate of Queen of All Saints Grade School in Chicago and Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette. Her undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, and she was granted her MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Born and raised on the Northwest Side of Chicago, Cara considers herself a city girl at heart, while fully appreciating the many perks of suburban living. She has called Elmhurst home since 1999. It has been a wonderful community for her and her husband, Dan, to raise their daughter and two sons. Elmhurst is centrally located, allowing Cara to service all her clients no matter where they live or are looking to migrate.

Real estate transactions require a team of players that include not only real estate agents, but attorneys, lenders, stagers, appraisers, and inspectors — just to name a few. She considers herself a resource choreographer, managing the various puzzle pieces that must come together in order to successfully buy or sell a home. She is truly at the center of all her deals, proactively keeping all parties accountable of their duties. But her true value proposition lies in building relationships, both professional and personal. She believes that maintaining these partnerships is just as important as creating them. Cara enjoys representing both buyers and sellers of residential real estate. She has created an adaptable and tailored-to-purpose client process, one that ensures each of her clients gets the optimal return on their personal investment.
