Catherine Orr

Catherine’s love for South Carolina, hot summers, and southern hospitality can be traced back to her childhood growing up in Myrtle Beach. Her time during the school year was taken up by performing arts and her summers were filled with tourists, traffic, and being near water as much as possible. Coming to Columbia in 2012 to attend the University of South Carolina, she had no idea that she could love this city more than the one she knew for 18 years! Columbia is where she met her husband (in Williams Brice Stadium), built lifelong relationships with college friends, and found the church that would be so instrumental in growing her faith. Married in 2017, Catherine and her husband bought a home in Columbia and immersed themselves in the city in a new way. As Columbia has grown & differentiated itself from the rest, they have found themselves proud to be a part of the fun & vibrant culture it offers.

After graduating in 2016 with a degree in Business Administration, Catherine went directly into full time ministry with Campus Outreach, a college Christian ministry. For 3.5 years, she had the amazing opportunity of mentoring college students at USC from all over the US. Her days were filled with initiating & building relationships, challenging students towards growth, and coaching them in character and discipline. Constantly planning and recruiting to events, she thought for others’ needs and how to bring people together for a greater purpose. To be a part of a young person growing into who they will be for the rest of their life is the most rewarding experience Catherine has ever had, and she is so grateful for the skills she learned.

Considering her degree and her design, Catherine always knew long-term she would want to be in the business realm working closely with people. Her natural ability to build relationships coupled with a fervent desire to make an impact in the local community led her to see that real estate would be a great fit. Having experience in handling a task from start to finish, she wanted to take her skills to a place where the results can clearly be seen! There is something so amazing about the process of discovering your next home to getting the keys handed over to you—and she knew that firsthand! Catherine and her husband had such a wonderful experience buying their home with The Art of Real Estate that she knew she did not need to look any further.
