Recently, I made the decision to start looking for a house in the Phoenix area. Coming from a real estate family where my Father owns a large Remax franchise in Illinois, I asked for his help in finding me an agent that had my best interest in mind. I was referred to Cathy Abramson with Remax Alliance Group in Gilbert. From my first contact until even after I had moved in, Cathy was nothing but an absolute professional. During my search she was flexible and also prepared to work around my busy work schedule. By the second time we had met to look at houses, she had narrowed my tastes down and started recommending properties to look at in addition to the units that I had selected. I found my first house in a relatively short amount of time and have just recently moved in. During my search, and subsequent purchasing process, Cathy was on top of any news or changes and always kept me informed. Buying a house long distance is not for the faint of heart. In our case we were living in VA and due to our son’s ever increasing rent, decided to help him to purchase a home in Chandler,AZ. Cathy helped my partner and I secure our dream home in the Coronado district of Phoenix this past month. It was not an easy purchase as the seller was either difficult to negotiate with or non communicative, but Cathy was amazing, she held strong and got us to closing within three weeks of our offer being excepted. She also negotiated a nice credit at closing from the seller for some minor repairs needed on the house, which meant we could have the work done when and by whom we wanted. My wife and I were relocating to the Phoenix/Tempe area from Upstate New York as I was beginning a doctoral program at Arizona State University. Cathy took the time to speak with my wife and I on the phone for several hours to get an idea of who we were and what we were looking for. Cathy understood that I needed to do research and investigate the area myself before accepting her advice and allowed me the time and space to accomplish this and then was there to answer questions and provide knowledgeable feedback when needed. We visited Phoenix on a house hunting excursion in April and Cathy spent parts of two separate days showing us homes from lists she and I had compiled. In the end, we made an offer on the first home we looked at (on Cathy’s advice) because she advised it would be gone quickly. After some negotiating, professionally handled by Cathy, our offer was accepted. We flew back to Upstate New York and Cathy and her team made handling the long distance closing very easy. We were not able to take possession immediately and the house was going to be vacant for a couple of months. Cathy and her team checked on the house regularly, flushed the toilets, ran the faucets, and collected any mail. During this time, she remained in contact and facilitated any of our needs. We could not have been more satisfied and I would highly recommend her.
