Chris Mearn is the co-founder and one of the Principals of District. After working years in the commercial real estate business, Chris and his partner Tim Bulman saw the opportunity and the need for a more personalized approach to commercial real estate. Since 2014, they have been providing clients exactly that with high-quality, individualized solutions.
Chris has nearly two decades of commercial real estate experience on a local, regional, and national scale and specializes in landlord and tenant representation, retail acquisitions and dispositions, site selection, and retail roll-out assignments. Over the years, Chris has worked with a range of urban landlords, developers, and shopping center owners, including Related Beal, Boston Properties, Asana, Equity Residential, and New England Development. In addition, Chris also represents, assists, and handles expansion plans for national and regional retail tenants, including Trader Joe’s for 33 states. Recently, he curated and procured 18 tenant food stalls at the 25,000 sf Food Hall at The Hub on Causeway. Lastly, Chris also works hand-in-hand with local entrepreneurial tenants like Blackbird Doughnuts and Sullivan’s Castle Island to develop brick-and-mortar strategy plans.
Prior to co-founding District, Chris served as Vice President of Leasing and Acquisitions for Rubicon Real Estate, where he managed leasing, investment acquisitions, and asset management. Chris graduated from Babson College, is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
