In the span of a year, his life completely changed. When he stumbled upon his passion for real estate, it could not have come at a more opportune time.
Family has always meant the world to me, and he would grow up very close with mine. His family has been in Florida for generations, and he has relatives all around me. As a child, his parents encouraged persistence, diligence, and optimism which he has continued to grow since then. He has his mother to thank for a large part of his positive mindset. Through the years, he has come to realize that mindset is everything. Of course, no one can be positive all the time, things happen. And yet, he always come back to what he is thankful for and what he still hopes to achieve.
Throughout his life, his father always invested and saved to provide the best life he could for their family. When he passed away, his sister and he found themselves with a small real estate portfolio overnight. Even though he had read about real estate, he quickly learned that there was still a whole lot he did not know. Those first few months were trial by fire. The more they did, the more he realized that he enjoyed the work, the people he met, and he was good at it.
Balancing the sale of those properties and the unique needs of investment real estate alongside his full-time job as a project manager in construction was a lot. However, he enjoyed what he was doing and the more he did, the more he wanted to continue.
He had spent the last thirteen years managing construction technicians and in the last couple of years it became all-consuming. There were always last-minute calls and fires to put out. Between that and the sixty hours a week he was already at my job, it was overwhelming to say the least. He liked the work, so with burnout closing in fast, real estate seemed the perfect way to bridge that gap.
Real estate became his passion, and he knew that it was the career and life he wanted for my family. Everything he does is for them—his parents, his sister, his wife, Maura, and his daughter, Cameron. They are his drive and inspiration each day. He saw the toll those long days were taking on all of them and he knew that he had the answer to a better life right in front of him. Within months, he became a full-time REALTOR® and never looked back. To this day, he knows that it was the best decision he had ever made.
