About David
David is a licensed Texas attorney and a Texas Realtor. His childhood was spent in Kansas and later he graduated from high school in Vermont. He graduated from college and law school in Kansas and moved to Houston in 1978 to join Stewart Title Company. He managed their downtown commercial closing office until 1989 when he got into real estate brokerage and moved to Galveston. David has chaired the Galveston Multiple Listing Service Committee and was the 2010 President of the Galveston Association of Realtors. He was designated 2011 Realtor of the Year by the Galveston Association of Realtors. Outsmart Magazine, published in Houston, also designated him Galveston Realtor of the Year for 2011 and 2012.
David has served on Galveston City Council (1994-2000) and the Galveston Wharves Board (1998-2000). He was on the Wharves Board that brought back the cruise ship industry to Galveston. David is a board member for the Rotary Club of Galveston and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He is a big brother in the Big Brother, Big Sister program and a member of Elks Lodge #126. Historic preservation is a passion for David, and he was the 2009-2010 President of the Galveston Historical Foundation. David received the Distinguished Volunteer Service Award from GHF and has restored older homes and a corner store. His personal residence was on the 2013 GHF Annual Homes Tour. David rode out Hurricane Ike in his 1899 Victorian home and served on the Ike Recovery Committee. David is currently the Treasurer and immediate Past President of the Silkstocking District Neighborhood Association.
