Dave and Amy were referred to us when looking for a house (or apartment...or a rental..or a purchase) on the North Shore and we didn't know them previously. I will definitely be referring them in the future to anyone who asks.

We closed on our first house a few weeks ago and really couldn't have done it without their patience, knowledge, and flexibility. We oscillated between renting and purchasing when the market had so little inventory, had to back out from a rental, and then eventually won out over several offers on the purchase of our home.

First and foremost, Dave and Amy are honest and good people who want what's best for your family - but they're also smart business people who are passionate about what they do and it shows. They have so much great insight in each neighborhood and have good relationships with other realtors which can make all the difference when making an offer. They also had great tips on renovation and design, and Dave would always run to check mechanicals in the basement and attic and know what to look for in old houses or new houses to give advice on things.

Couldn't recommend them more highly as humans and as a business.

We had the pleasure of working with Dave Chung to support our move to Evanston IL. Moving to a new city while living in another area (Boston MA) can be challenging but Dave went above and beyond to help us seek, evaluate, and eventually purchase our soon-to-be home. Virtual tours and FaceTimes replaced in-person visits to properties on offer. He guided us to other professionals who worked in concert with him to provide legal services and help us to get a mortgage. Our limited time in the Evanston area since the start of our search was managed professionally and, we think, helped him to hone in on the right properties on which to focus.

Once we decided to make an offer, Dave helped us to understand the process, with specific details on buying property in Illinois, and to make the right offer. While our first attempt was unsuccessful, a very common outcome in this competitive real estate market, we later determined that the winning bid was less than ours which, to us, indicated a cash offer as we had no property to sell as a contingency and had been pre-approved for a mortgage. Our next attempt was successful and again Dave helped us price our offer competitively without, we believe, overpaying for our property. As one who is very critical of the real estate brokerage industry, I believe that Dave and Amy Chung are the only people are able to demonstrate the value of agency representation in the sale of a home. My gripe has always been that most brokers have never worked in a corporate environment like the clients they represent and so often fall short in terms of effort, dedication, communication, and accountability. Not so with Dave and Amy, who have both worked in the corporate arena and know firsthand about the importance of client service.

When I first met them, they came in with a customized and concise marketing plan as well as a detailed analysis of what the value of my home was worth. They did not try “to buy” my listing as so many brokers will do since they have little downside in overlisting a home just to win the relationship. But there was also humility and respect in their approach. What really impressed me was after signing the broker-listing agreement, they both rolled up their sleeves and helped and advised us in getting the home ready for sale so as to squeeze every last potential dollar of value in our home. They even incorporate technology by using a drone to shoot video and photos of the property.

The property sold in the first few days on the market and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the deal and the representation of Dave and Amy Chung. If you live in the North Shore suburbs of Chicago, you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not at the very least meeting with them and finding out how they differentiate themselves.

Also, the tag-team approach meant that they were always available (literally). Amy has a great eye for staging and they were super helpful about having some staging items to fill a few needs in our home. Dave and Amy were an amazing team assisting our family in finding our perfect north shore home. What really sets Dave & Amy apart from all other relators we've encountered is their unique combination of: 1) knowing the local community & market (beyond just home values but schools, etc); 2) their patience & guidance in the process; 3) their knowledge of home construction (as developers of homes themselves they truly understand the bones of an apt from plumbing to electrical to cabinetry to roofing).
