David Moody

Growing up in Canton, Georgia north of Atlanta and at the base of the Appalachian Mountain range was a great childhood. I have had the values of honesty and hard work instilled in me from the beginning. My parents and grand-parents gave me the privilege of participating in helping out on the family farm, which were poultry and cattle operations. Responsibility has been placed on me since I was in my early teens. For a short three year period, I managed and operated my parents Flea Market. It is amazing what negotiating and people skills that line of business teaches an individual. I am a hard working over achiever who skipped junior year of Cherokee High School and graduate a year early at 16 to enter the job force more quickly. After entering the job force with employment at Lockheed Corporation and spending three productive years there, I decided to make a career change and move toward real estate. The market around Atlanta had started to blossom in the mid 80’s and I wanted to be a part of that growth. I earned my real estate and appraisal education and started performing appraisals and sales while remaining employed with Lockheed. In 1988, my Dad and I created Georgia Real Estate Evaluation Services, Inc. and began performing real estate appraisals under our own name. Three years later in 1991, we opened Sunrise Realty and started handling sales and consulting under our own logo. In 1994, ERA Franchise Systems gave me the opportunity to be part of their program and we have grown from there. We started with four agents in one office of 1000 square feet. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, we have grown to over 150 sales associates, five sales offices and two appraisal offices serving Metropolitan Atlanta and northern Georgia.

I am forty-one years old and have been married twenty-two years to the same woman. Other than building my own home on a portion of the family farm, I have lived on the same piece of dirt all my life. Stability is my middle name. I have two children, Danielle fourteen and Destinee twelve, who keep mine and my wife’s lives interesting and exciting. Real Estate is a people business and I try to cognizant of that when dealing with our staff, managers, agents, clients or customers. I try very hard to listen to peoples needs before attempting to provide them services. We work hard to instill this into our family of agents, as well. My success and the success of the company are due greatly to the quality and integrity of the individuals that we have working with us.
