After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Debbie worked as a pediatric nurse at Boston Children's Hospital for two years, after which she received a scholarship grant from the National Institute of Health and earned a master's degree from New York University. She enjoyed several years in hospital administration before switching to the business side of healthcare with a successful career selling medical products and services.
