Debra McDaniel is an associate broker with Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc., specializing in commercial, residential and investment properties. As a lifelong Roman, she knows Rome-Floyd County inside and out, and joined the company in March 2004. Debra is a graduate of Armuchee High School and holds three degrees from the University of West Georgia: a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in psychology, as well as an Educational Specialist degree in guidance and counseling.
As a small business owner for more than three decades, Debra is especially qualified and skilled in walking her commercial customers through the necessary steps to create an enterprise from the ground up. Beyond the sometimes transactional nature of real estate, Debra makes sure to ask the right questions to get to know her clients. Her background in leadership, motivation, supervision, employee recruitment and retention also helps customers define their vision and goals, set objectives to meet those goals, and conceive and enact a realistic business plan.
Debra has been a Floyd County small business owner for more than 30 years, with a significant amount of experience in building and selling businesses. With a background in supervision, leadership, motivation, employee recruitment and retention, she is able to take her skillsets and efficiently walk commercial clients through the necessary steps of creating an enterprise from the ground up. Beyond the sometimes transactional nature of real estate, Debra makes sure to ask the right questions to get to know her clients. She helps customers define their vision and goals, setting objectives to meet those goals, then creating and enacting a realistic business plan, including choosing the right property.
She is also skilled at understanding the more tactical and logistical side of the process, such as financing, building inspection, planning and zoning considerations, and more. As a result, she has been able to mentor many of her contacts that have become customers, colleagues and even friends. Her experience watching the growth of business in Rome and Floyd County has been enhanced by getting to travel to other communities and meeting with business leaders to recruit new opportunities. She enjoys finding out how others are supporting their local start-ups and seeing how that can be replicated closer to home.
Outside of real estate and her entrepreneurship, Debra has worked with the State of Georgia counseling youth and families for more than a decade. She is very passionate about early childhood development and improving the quality of instruction for young learners in Floyd County. She sees this as an important opportunity not only for them as individuals, but also for the larger community as these kids grow into our future business leaders and surrounding workforce.
Debra is the proud mother of two and the proud grandmother of three. She enjoys spending her free time trying out new restaurants, watching reality TV, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, and exploring Rome with the youngest Romans in her family.
