About Don
Don Bell is one of those people that you instantly recognize as almost unique in today’s world; a man of business with the highest of personal standards of integrity, trustworthiness and excellent work.
From a very young age he worked in the construction industry with his father in building both residential and commercial properties in Ohio. This experience stands him in good stead with his real estate clients because of his building knowledge and his eye for detail. He knows not only what fine craftsmanship looks like on the outside, but what structural advantages are important and why.
Don’s subsequent career in the banking industry is an additional benefit. He worked his way through the banking ranks from collections to branch management and then returned to the construction industry as a financial analyst and credit manager, handling project management and engineering profitability turn arounds. His natural open and friendly attitude combined with his energy and spirit propelled him to the marketing arm of the business and he achieved great success with a move to Jacksonville, Fl where he advanced the profitability of several of the businesses locations. His success was largely due to his strength at negotiations and problem resolution.
After 23 years of dedicated work he was able to take early retirement and fulfill his long time desire to make a move to the mountains of western North Carolina to begin his real estate career. His background and high level of skills in negotiating, problem solving and project managing were a perfect fit for servicing his real estate clients. He has a deep passion for the land in this beautiful area which led him to pursue further education to earn the Accredited Land Certification professional designation. He is developing his knowledge of the particular issues unique to large tracts of land. This training in topography, land utilization, drainage and soil composition, and the parameters particular to land development, has given Don the tools necessary to evaluate potential and best use for land.
The climate and culture of our mountain area has afforded Don to explore and perfect his hobby as an amateur photography. Walking large tracts of land gives him the perfect opportunity to photograph beautiful mountain scenery. He and his wife love to travel the world when time allows and he is able to indulge his photography hobbies in out of the way places; most recently in the Outback of Australia. He also enjoys hiking our mountains and getting lost on purpose so he can perfect the use of a hand held GPS to map and identify the coordinates.
Don will make sure you don’t get lost in the myriad of details involved in today’s real estate transaction when you are ready for a real estate move!
