Doug began his business career at Price Waterhouse-Coopers, where as a CPA, he learned the financial and tax skills so important to the real estate business. He sharpened his negotiating, financing and transaction skills at The Yucaipa Companies, a national supermarket business he co-founded. He also owned and managed two successful bottled water businesses. A Monterey Peninsula resident since 1989, Doug has a deep knowledge of and commitment to the community. His service includes board and leadership responsibilities for The Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, Leon Panetta's Fort Ord Economic Re-Use Committee, Family Service Agency, Santa Lucia Preserve Community Services District, and Santa Catalina School. A former professional musician, he enjoys playing guitar and bass. Doug is a member of the Old Capital Club, the Beach and Tennis Club and Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Doug is married to Susan Carlisle, whose successful real estate career and exceptional design and staging talents provide wise counsel. Their children Laura, Stephen and Chris and grandchildren Conner and Ava, are their most cherished relationships.
