About Eric
Ask Eric any question about real estate and you’ll quickly realize he’s in the perfect career. With 20 years of selling real estate, including 10 years as the owner of Inhabit Real Estate, this seasoned veteran has the answers to your questions, the solutions to your situation, and a refreshing approach not normally found in the real estate space.
Midway through his sales career as a Realtor, Eric followed his calling to teach other Realtors how to serve clients at the highest level, and Inhabit Real Estate was born. He and his wife Kim have co-operated this small and reputable boutique brokerage known for serving all types of clients from first-timers to downsizers, and luxury clients to sophisticated developers throughout the Portland, OR and SW Washington areas. In his unique position of being a “selling owner”, Eric’s broad perspective and “in the trenches” knowledge keep him and his Inhabit colleagues extremely relevant and highly informed. Furthermore, as a Director on the boards of PMAR and RMLS, Eric gives back to the industry that has given so much to him and his family. He’s often referred to as an “Industry preservationist” and “Broker’s broker” admired and respected by colleagues and competitors alike.
After serving hundreds of clients and facilitating many millions of dollars in sales, he has certainly honed his skills as a strong negotiator, and a candid advisor who is keenly focused on protecting his clients’ best interests in all circumstances. Ironically, with all this experience, his solutions and advice are truly simple and easy to digest. His clients & brokers love his candor and straightforward communication, but what’s different about Eric is how he listens and shares his intel without a whiff of pressure or obligation. Eric’s holistic approach puts his clients’ and broker’s needs first. When asked, Eric says; “It’s easy!… Listen, care, and set crystal clear expectations and the rest will follow.” He is known to bring calm to the chaos and stress often found in the world of real estate. He is composed and unhurried and creates predictable outcomes in unpredictable, emotional situations.
Personally, Eric is passionate about spending time with his family of 5, which includes his Goldendoodle Benny, of course! He’s quick to credit his teenage and young adult kids for teaching him so much. And he’s always proud to talk about Kim’s highly successful design career and artistic talents. However, it is the concept of “home” that is foremost on his mind knowing that home is the haven for the important things in life. This concept fuels Eric’s passion project around fighting for housing affordability, housing stability, and easier housing production which all feed the greater good of accessible housing for all. When he’s not riding and racing his bike, you may find Eric testifying in front of the Mayor and City Council or giving his time in any capacity aimed at breaking down barriers toward home ownership and accessible housing for everyone: those who want to buy & sell, those who want to rent, and those who need an extra hand just to lay their head down at night in a safe place.
If you are interested in buying, selling, developing, or joining the Inhabit team, please always feel free to call him. He’s at your service.
